Division 1 No. 5-ranked Novi Detroit Catholic Central repeated as Catholic High School League A-B Division boys soccer champion, beating Division 2 No. 3-ranked Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 4-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Madison Heights Bishop Foley.

Senior Ryan Pierson scored two goals and added two assists to lead Catholic Central. Senior Joel VanHook and junior Jeswin David added goals in the convincing victory.

Catholic Central has won the CHSL boys soccer championship three of the past four years (2014, 2016, and 2017).

"It's very exciting to win three championships over the past four years," said Catholic Central head coach Gene Pulice. "There's definitely some luck involved. We have great kids and we are blessed to do this and play the game that means so much to us."

Catholic Central (11-1-1) opens Michigan High School Athletic Association district playoffs on Monday, Oct. 16 against North Farmington at Catholic Central.

Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard beat Madison Heights Bishop Foley 3-1 to win the CHSL C-D championship game earlier in the evening.
