Michigan high school girls basketball: Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood beats Riverview Gabriel Richard 41-29 on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025

   Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood held off Catholic High School League Intersectional 1 girls basketball rival Riverview Gabriel Richard 41-29 on Monday, Jan. 20, at Cranbrook.

   Gabriel Richard led 13-12 after one quarter. Cranbrook held Gabriel Richard to two points in the second quarter to lead 23-14 at halftime. Gabriel Richard rallied in the third to take a 25-24 lead. Cranbrook outscored Gabriel Richard 17-5 the rest of the way to secure the win.

   Senior Madeline Day led Cranbrook with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Junior Justine Casey had seven points, four rebounds, and blocked a shot. Freshman Savannah Newman had six points, six rebounds, and blocked a shot in the victory.

   Cranbrook (3-6/2-3) hosts league foe Ann Arbor Greenhills (4-5/1-2) on Friday, Jan. 24.

   Gabriel Richard (2-10/0-5) travels to face league foe Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett (4-5/2-1) on Monday, Jan. 27.
