Michigan high school girls basketball: Detroit Edison Public School Academy Early College of Excellence beat Bolingbrook (Ill.) on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025

   Defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball champion Detroit Edison Public School Academy Early College of Excellence beat visiting Illinois powerhouse Bolingbrook 58-49 on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Edison.

   Edison led 19-12 after one quarter, 37-18 at halftime, and 47-35 after three quarters.

  Miss Basketball contender senior Isis Johnson-Musah (California) led Edison with 15 points. Sophomore Rhianna Young scored 12 points. Freshman Nicole James finished with 11 points in the victory.

   Sophomore Skylar Wakefield led Bolingbrook with 16 points.

   Edison beat Detroit Cass Technical 63-28 on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

   Edison (11-3) travels to face Kalamazoo Christian (11-2) on Saturday, Feb. 8.
