Defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball
champion Detroit Edison Public School Academy Early College of Excellence cruised past Utica Eisenhower 61-42 on Saturday, Jan. 4,
at the Motor City Showcase at Detroit Cass Technical.
Against Eisenhower, Marianna Jones led Edison with 15 points. Miss Basketball
contender Isis Johnson-Musah (California) scored 11 points. Nicole James had 10 points. Mo Goudy scored eight points.
Edison held
off Clarkston 54-46 on Friday, Jan. 3. Isis Johnson-Musah led Edison with 21 points. Rihanna Young scored 12 points. Jones had 11
points in the victory.
Eisenhower (5-2) hosts Fraser (5-0) on Monday, Jan. 6.
Edison (6-2) hosts the Novi Homeschoolers (1-0) on Thursday,
Jan. 9.
Clarkston (4-5) travels to face Royal Oak (2-3) on Friday, Jan. 10.
