Michigan high school wrestling: Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. beats Detroit Cass Technical 41-31 on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025

   Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. defeated Detroit Cass Technical 41-31 to repeat as Detroit Public School League wrestling champion on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Cass Technical.

   Amari Tarver (120), Kaden Lynn (126), Jayden Jones (132), Amir Milton (138), Demario Anthony (144), John Huthinson (150), Demar Cunningham (157), Christopher Jones (165), Don Spillers (175), and Lemont Smith (215) earned victories for King.

  King will compete in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, District 164 tournament at Hamtramck on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Detroit Cesar Chavez Academy, Grosse Pointe North, and Hamtramck are the other competitors.

   Cass Tech will complete in the Division 1, District 127 tournament at St. Clair Shores Lakeview on Thursday, Feb. 6. Grosse Pointe South, Roseville, and Lakeview are the other competitors.
