Michigan high school boys basketball: Detroit University Preparatory Science & Math beat Detroit Public Safety Academy 72-45 on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025

   Detroit University Preparatory Science & Math pounded Charter School Conference Silver Division rival Detroit Public Safety Academy 72-45 at the UPrep Classic on Friday, Jan. 24, at Detroit University Preparatory Art & Design.

   Science & Math led 11-9 after one quarter and extended the lead to 33-19 at halftime.

   Sheldon Hayes had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals for Science & Math. Gary Reed Jr. contributed 14 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Omari Holloway had 12 points, four assists, and two steals in the win.

  Science & Math (9-4/7-1) travels to face conference foe Pontiac Academy for Excellence (4-10/2-6) on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

  Public Safety (4-9/3-3) hosts conference foe Ecorse (8-4/5-2) on Friday, Jan. 31.
