Michigan high school boys basketball: St. Clair Shores South Lake beats Eastpointe 54-51 on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025

   St. Clair Shores South Lake edged Eastpointe 54-51 in Macomb Area Conference Silver Division boys basketball action on Thursday, Jan. 9, at Eastpointe.

   The two head coaches (Kurt Wilson for South Lake and Darius Wilson for Eastpointe) are brothers and they faced each other on the court for the first time.

   Eastpointe led 34-27 midway through the third quarter. South Lake used a 9-1 run to take the lead at 36-35. Eastpointe scored the next five points to take back the lead at 40-36. South Lake had a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter to lead 50-42.

   Terence Mays and Ernest Tiggart led South Lake with 12 points apiece. Charlie Jones scored 11 points. John Hudson added nine points in the victory.

   Aaron Perry led Eastpoint with 15 points. Sean Askew scored 12 points. James Ready added nine points.

   South Lake (7-4/2-0) hosts conference foe Marine City (2-4/1-1) and Eastpointe (7-4/1-1) travels to face conference foe Center Line (8-2/2-0) on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
