Defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 girls basketball champion West Bloomfield
dominated Detroit Cass Technical 57-24 on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Laker Martin Luther King Jr. Classic at West Bloomfield.
It was West Bloomfield’s third straight victory.
West Bloomfield led 20-5 after one quarter, 46-10 at halftime, and 52-18
after three quarters.
Senior Breasia Gamble-Jones led West Bloomfield with 14 points. Junior Kaela Hall scored 11 points.
Junior Sheridan Beal added 10 points in the win. Senior Breanna Gamble-Jones and junior Londyn Hall both added eight points in the
win.
Beal is the only starter remaining from last season’s championship team.
Nyia Terrell led Cass Tech
with nine points.
West Bloomfield (6-5/2-0) hosts Oakland Activities Association Red Division foe Oxford (3-8/0-2) and
Cass Tech (9-4/4-2) hosts Detroit Public School League Blue Division foe Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. (5-5/2-3) on Thursday, Jan.
