West Bloomfield stopped Detroit Mumford 47-32 in girls basketball action on Saturday, Jan. 4, as part of the Motor
City Showcase at Detroit Cass Technical.
West Bloomfield led 16-7 after one quarter, 23-12 at halftime, and 38-24 after
three quarters.
Sophomore Sheridan Beal led West Bloomfield with 24 points. Senior Ava Lord scored seven points. Senior
Beasia Gamble-Jones and junior Londyn Hall both scored six points in the victory.
Beal is the only remaining starter from
West Bloomfield’s Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 championship team from 2024.
Mumford (2-3) travels
to face Detroit Public School League Blue Division rival Detroit Southeastern (1-5) on Thursday, Jan. 9.
West Bloomfield
(3-4) travels to face undefeated Detroit Country Day (8-0) on Friday, Jan. 10.
